Shot peening installations for an OEM of gas turbines
Straaltechniek International delivered a special blast cabinet for a Belgian company that manufactures carbon filters based on activated carbon techniques. It was special not only for its dimensions, but also for the customised – and therefore unique – machine set-up.
Gas turbines are used in environments where high demands are made on efficiency, reliability, flexibility and the environment. A high return on investment means that these machines are suitable for a wide range of clients, varying from utility companies and electricity producers to numerous industrial users. A significant requirement here is high productivity and a long service life.
Straaltechniek International supplied the following two machines:
An installation for shot peening gas turbine blades by means of ceramic beads.
This installation is fitted with 12 programmable nozzles, thereby realising a fully automatic shot peening process. Moreover, the complete recovery and classification of blasting media was provided for.
An installation for shot peening the feet of gas turbine blades by means of steel shot.
This installation is fitted with 8 programmable nozzles, thereby realising a fully automatic shot peening process. Moreover, the pneumatic recovery and classification of steel shot was provided for.
